Los Angeles Young Government Leaders
With the help of the Greater Los Angeles Federal Executive Board, the Los Angeles Chapter was launched in March 2011 and has grown to 620 members strong, so far.
We’ve hit the ground running in 2015 with the Young Government Leaders Los Angeles (YGL-LA) 2015 Volunteer Day. The event took place Saturday, February 28th at the Food Bank of Southern California in Long Beach. The Young Feds rolled up their sleeves to put together food boxes for needy families. Volunteering consisted of sorting, sanitizing and repackaging goods for food boxes. The YGL-LA members, and friends were joined current President Tayo Agboke and other current and former board members.
We are also mentoring and providing guidance to current students and recent graduates through the Student Ambassadors Program. Prior student ambassadors have participated in the Pathways Program and moved on to federal employment.
2016 and beyond will focus on a mixture of professional development for members and providing valuable input to future government decisions within greater Los Angeles. As such, the Chapter has actively broadened its executive board and membership to include both a diversity of experience and background within greater Los Angeles. YGL-LA will serve as a coordinated voice for young government in Los Angeles, facilitate online discussion, and provide relevant information, resources, and opportunities to members through events, research and daily posts, tweets and updates.

YGL is the premiere professional organization for young government employees, no matter where you’re located.
Our members come to YGL events for the opportunity to build lasting relationships with other aspiring government leaders and to brainstorm about potential solutions to the significant challenges the government faces now and in the next century. YGL encourages members to get involved, make a difference, and develop their leadership potential. Concurrently, members are guaranteed to have fun, develop long lasting friendships, and make a real difference in the business of government.
