
Izabela Wackowski-Norris
Izabela Wackowski-Norris, has a Master’s in Public Administration, before coming to Ingham County Health Department Izabela worked for a Domestic Violence Agency, EVE, Inc. for 17 years. She joined Ingham County Health Department, Ingham Community Health Center in December of 2013 as Community Health Center Supervisor and is responsible for administrative and clinical oversight, program development, and budget management for the health center’s operations. She ensures that programs operate in compliance with local, state and federal standards, policies and guidelines, and grant contract conditions.
She started the job by overseeing Adult Health, within couple months she was given the oversite of the Adult Dental, and within few months after was also given the oversite of Healthy Smiles which is pediatric dental health center. A previous problem at the health center was the lack of patient’s privacy. To make sure this problem was eradicated, Izabela spearheaded the relocation and renovation of our new Forest Community Health Center.
She didn’t just stop at ensuring privacy, she also implemented new technology to advise patients of when the doctor is ready to see them, added lines on the floor to ease them around the clinic, and made sure we had interpreters and staff with appropriate skills. Izabela is very passionate about making people comfortable and helping them navigate the healthcare system in this country. Izabela is a passion-driven force that will make the world a better place one health center at a time.
