Michael Fratina

Michael B. Fratina has over 30 years’ experience in Logistics and serves as Chief, Property Management Branch at the National Institutes of Health. His responsibilities include enforcing asset management policies and ensuring programs and procedures are in compliance with federal standards. Michael is responsible for managing over 255,000 property assets with an acquisition cost of over $1.6 billion.

Michael also trains, coaches, and mentors 40 employees. Upon assuming his role at NIH, Michael worked closely with the Institutes and Centers Property Accountability Officers to apply newly established property policies and procedures. His collaborative effort and communication resulted in increasing government asset accountability and reduced the annual inventory discrepancy rate from 5.6 percent to 2.5 percent.
